    Huey (Dennis Hopper) says, "You can't just go to your local video store and rent Easy Rider (1969) to be a rebel." Hopper directed and starred in "Easy Rider".

    The first American film by Franco Amurri, the Italian director who worked as one of Federico Fellini's assistants on _City of Women (1980)_.

    The song 'Born to be Wild' by Steppenwolf is heard on the soundtrack which is an obvious reference to 'Easy Rider', the infamous 1969 film directed by and starring Dennis Hopper.
    *
    Whilst in the dining car of the train, Dennis Hopper's character refers to Kiefer Sutherland's character as a 'rebel without applause' which is an obvious reference to Rebel Without A Cause, the famous 1955 film starring James Dean which co-starred Dennis Hopper.
    *
    In the (Denver) train depot, Dennis Hopper made fast friends with the two Chinese children (seen in the film, waving at his character). He spent his off time, playing with the kids, during set up and their reactions to him in the film are authentic.

    The ending was filmed at an old beatnik hangout, City Lights Bookstore that is run by Lawrence Ferlinghetti who published Jack Kerouac, Gregory Corso, Diane DiPrima, Jack Hirschman, and Allen Ginsberg which City Light's published his most famous poem, "Howl".

    The motorcycle which Sutherland rides off on at the end of the film is a Honda VF1000R. It was a homologation race bike with only approximately 15,000 made from 1984-1986.
