With 1.7million admissions in France during its opening weekend, and an English language remake in the works, Heartbreaker arrives on our shores with some solid credentials. Throw in the gorgeous pairing of Vanessa Paradis and Romain Duris with a Cote d’Azur setting and you have all the ingredients for a great rom-com.Duris has made a name for himself playing complex characters in Paris and The Beat That My Hear Skipped and it’s refreshing to see him try his hand at something light-hearted.

 

Here he plays Alex Lippi, a highly experienced couple-wrecker with a 100% success rate. If you’ve got the money, he can do it. Alex does have some rules though – they must be unhappy in the relationship, sex isn’t an option and never, ever fall in love. Everything else is fair game.
